Olga is a litigation senior associate with experience in enforcement, prosecution, disciplinary and administrative review proceedings. Olga has experience advising and representing various government clients such as the Department of Health, the Department of Justice and Community Safety, the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

Olga has previously worked as a lawyer for the Department of Transport and Planning, and brings this experience to her role.

Experience

  • Representing government departments and agencies in court and tribunals in prosecutions, enforcement hearings, disciplinary hearings and inquiries
  • Advising government departments and agencies on their prospects of success, and strategy during prosecutions, disciplinary and enforcement proceedings
  • Representing the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP), as in-house lawyer, in courts and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal in enforcement proceedings, administrative law proceedings (merits and judicial review), human rights complaints and coronial enquires
  • Advising DTP, as in-house lawyer, on statutory interpretation and good decision making
  • Reviewing evidence submitted by mechanics and engineers in response to show cause notices issued by DTP and advising on decision making by DTP
  • Briefing the Secretary and Ministers of the DTP (via e-briefings), as in-house lawyer, on legal proceedings, cabinet submissions and risk to DTP
  • Leading the DTP’s response, as in-house lawyer, to the Yoorrook Justice Commission

Leadership

  • Former Chairperson of the Australia Lebanon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ALCCI) Young Entrepreneurs from January 2020 to December 2020; and
  • Former Vice Chairperson and secretary of the ALCCI Young Entrepreneurs from August 2015 to December 2019.
