John Corcoran AM, Principal and Chair of Russell Kennedy Lawyers, has been awarded an Order of Australia in the 2017 Australia Day Honours.
John's award is featured in Lawyers Weeklyhereand in CBD Newshere.
This is acknowledgment of John’s great contribution to our community and to the legal profession. John has held the high offices of President of the Law Institute of Victoria (where he is an Honorary Life Member) and President of the Law Council of Australia. His numerous board appointments include the Legal Services Board and the Board of the International Bar Association.
John was previously a recipient of a Centenary Medal for services to Australian Society and to the law. He currently serves on the boards of a number of community organisations.
His award recognises “significant service to the law, and to the legal profession, through a range of executive roles, and to the community”.
John’s work is strongly aligned to Russell Kennedy’s commitment to the community and its substantial pro-bono matters for a range of social and community organisations.
At Russell Kennedy, John is a principal in the property and development team and helped establish a now well recognised national practice in the area of Retirement Living and Aged Care.
This award recognises John Corcoran’s personal work in Victoria and Australia, but also highlights the strong commitment that Russell Kennedy has to “making a difference” for clients and the broader community.
