Russell Kennedy's Construction and Infrastructure team is pleased to present '5 Common Construction Debacles and How to Avoid Them'.

Principals Leonard Warren and Jos Mulcahy and Senior Associate Paul Somers will look at where construction projects commonly go wrong and how to avoid a debacle. Our presenters will share their experience and focus on 5 key topics:

  1. Extensions of time claims and the prevention principle;
  2. Variations claims;
  3. Time barred claims;
  4. Late payment and security of payment legislation; and
  5. Defective work & recourse to contractor’s security.

Leonard, Jos and Paul are very experienced dispute resolution professionals with broad experience in the construction industry.

Jos Mulcahy, Principal - Jos specialises in litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution related to major projects. His practice covers clients in all levels of government, as well as large listed and private companies.

Leonard Warren, PrincipalLeonard has acted for a wide variety of developers, consultants and builders in relation to general construction, property, leasing and insolvency disputes. He will share his broad industry experience with attendees.

Kyle Gillan, Special CounselKyle is a highly experienced construction lawyer with a focus on the ‘front end’ construction aspects of a broad range of infrastructure projects in various industry sectors.

Paul Somers, Senior AssociatePaul is a litigation lawyer with extensive experience advising Principals, Superintendents, building owners, and other infrastructure proprietors about minimising risk, and managing payment claims and contract disputes.
